MINTURN

The oldest community along the Valley “corridor” is Minturn, founded in the early 1900’s as a railroad transfer for the mining communities of Gilman, Red Cliff and Leadville.

Today Minturn still retains its historical architecture and family owned businesses. Centrally located between Vail and Beaver Creek, people are drawn to the small town charm and unpretentious environment.  Most visitors are drawn to the Turntable, a breakfast café that has been run by the same staff for over 25 years and the Saloon Bar and Restaurant for its traditional Mexican food, margaritas and the only dining establishment in the Valley with a roaring wood burning fireplace.  A wonderful summer past time is the local fresh produce, arts, crafts and music of the Minturn Farmer's Market that brings visitors from all over the state. Built on the banks of the Eagle River, Minturn is quiet and tranquil with breathtaking views of the high meadows of Grouse and Meadow Mountain. Future developments in the works for Minturn are a private 18-hole golf resort and a private ski resort modeled after the very elite Yellowstone Club in Montana.
